Johnny’s Red Liners Marches On With 11-4 Drubbing Of iBriganti. Still in First Place and Undefeated.

After another strong performance against Ogilvy, the Red Liners pushed on with a matchup against the Ignotz Briganti. A group of 12 skaters overcame a slow start and an initial jousting by Ignotz. But they eventually threw 11 pucks past the Ignotz goalie and continued their five game winning streak.

The scoring started off half way through the first period after Ignotz blocked multiple volleys thrown at their net. Pauley popped in a one timer from the slot. Ignotz came back 4 seconds later off the ensuing faceoff. Kaner Jr. regained the lead for the Red Liners with seconds left to play in the first period off a speedy wrister.

The Liners would score 4 unanswered goals in the second period. Toe knocked in a loose puck through the five hole. Kaner Jr. wristed a loose puck after into the upper net after dekeing the goalie. MK slipped in a backhander just inside the post. Finally, Jimmie blasted a slapshot from the mid-slot off a rebound. Ignotz would knock in 2 more goals of their own as they swarmed around Jimbo, the Red Liners netminder. A mystery goal was knocked in by the Liners between these two Ignotz goals to ratchet up the score to 7-3.

The third period had 4 more unanswered goals by the Liners. Kaner Jr alternated goals with Ty near the post and Don popped in the puck just inside the far post. Ignotz did manage a final 4th goal with a few remaining minutes.

With this commanding win, the Red Liners remain in first place of their South conference and the entire C2 division. They also have a division high, 52 goals for so far. Their next game will be this Sat at 11:10pm against the Pirates (2-4-1-1).
