Heartland Closes Tough Season With Big 7-0. Johnny’s Red Liners Continues Their Playoff March 5th Shutout Against The Crowns.

Prior to their final game, the Heartland Red Liners were 2-1-1. This game was a rematch of their previous battle against Jokerit. However, reports from the stands and benches indicated several unofficial players. One joked that that the number of players with no or half-shields was oddly high on Jokerit. In the end, their opponents rattled off 7 goals. The guys in red had trouble getting in sync. Full lines were often not changing together because of penalties and confusion on the bench. With the closing of the season, the Heartland Red Liners and CGHA hope to improve the team by having players play together more consistently and adding extra players.

The Johnny’s Red Liners skated against the Crowns in a rare Saturday afternoon game. All of the action was in the first period with the Liners lighting the lamp first about half way through the first period. But a major penalty call three minutes later allowed for a showering of pucks at the Crown net. Once the dust settled, three more pucks found the back of the net within a minute. The rest of the game was low shooting affair. Neither team would notch a goal. With this 17th win, the Red Liners await the start of the playoffs where they will have a first round bye.
