After taking the 2007 summer off for hockey, the Blackwolves regroup for another season at Rolling Meadows. Even with the success of the Gay Games 2006, attendance and interest began to decline. Attendance to games was down which left the benches short at multiple games. The CGHA would undergo a reorganization for the 2009 season.
