Adult Rec Hockey:

The Chicago Gay Hockey Association currently fields three teams named the Red Liners. Each team plays at Johnny’s Ice House and provides an environment within the hockey community that is open to all players and fans that is free from discrimination and prejudice.

Competitive – The JIH Red Liners play in the C3 division at Johnny’s Ice House. Games are played at either 1350 W. Madison or 2550 W. Madison and can be found on the calendar starting with “JW” or “JE” depending on the rink.

Recreational – The Red Liners field our recreational team in the Federal division at Johnny’s Ice House. Games are played at either 1350 W. Madison or 2550 W. Madison and can be found on the calendar starting with “FHL”, make sure you check the rink!

Outdoor – The Outdoor Red Liners play in the Chicago Outdoor Hockey League. Games are played at the IceLand Skate Complex at 8435 Ballard Rd. in Niles. Games can be found on the calendar starting with “COHL”.

Scrimmages:

Next Scrimmage: October 19th at Allstate Arena

The Chicago Gay Hockey Association will run yearly scrimmages for CGHA members to play against each other at a fun but competitive game. Titled Pucker-Up, the CGHA will try to combine these games with other social events such as a beer blast or tailgate party.

All skaters know that practice is an essential part of hockey. It is an important part of improving your game. All skill levels are welcomed. A $20 fee may be required for non-CGHA members.

From national and international competitions, the CGHA looks for  tournaments to display their skills and to show the rest of the players what the CGHA is all about. We have typically been competitive and have won numerous titles in these tournaments. The CGHA will also offer some travel stipends for attendees.
