McFet 95th Succumbs to Barons in 7-1 Loss. Still With Successful Season as League Finalist.

Season expectations were some what low after a slow start by both McFet Red Liners teams. Better opponents and small squads made it difficult to stay competitive in the league. The McFet 95th Red Liners managed to squeak out a respectable 8-11-1 (though league stats are different.) After being seeded 7th out of 8 teams, they won a decisive victory against the 2nd seeded Watchmen. Then they scored an improbable shootout victory against the 1st seeded Top Shelf. In the championship game, the Red Liners faced off with the Barons, the fifth seed. The Barons with their solid defense walled off any good scoring chances or breakaway attempts by the Red Liners. The only goal for the guys and gal in red was a powerplay goal by McClain. But the 6 goal lead was, not surprisingly, too high off a difference to overcome. The season is over. Though teammates have heavy hearts, they can relish in a still successful season as we beat expectations and came in 2nd.
