Yes it was a long 9 days ago, but we want to thank everyone involved in making the Youth Hockey Clinic at the Center on Halsted a great success! We had the unique opportunity to help out with the event which featured U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05), Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, as well as three members of the Blackhawks, Denis Savard, Niklas Hjalmarsson, and Brett McLean.
The purpose of the event was twofold. First, it promoted physical activity for youth and the Blackhawks helped this out with equipment donations that will allow more people to experience hockey. (For those who play, we know it is expensive). Second, as Congressman Quigley said, “Hockey is for everyone …”
Thanks again to everyone who made the event possible: all those who participated, supporters at the event, CGHA members who volunteered, the Chicago Blackhawks for their generosity, and Congressman Quigley and Mayor Emanuel for their support of the program.
