May 10: Heartland suited 13 skaters against the tough & first placed Blades. iBerg notched the first goal of the game off a loose puck by the Blade goalie. Kodi would score two goals from the slot off of rebounds and a pass from Jake. On the other end, the Liners would give up 5 goals of their own, mainly off odd man rushes to Rocket’s blocker side.
May 13: McFet 95th vs. PBR – Coming into this game, PBR had 32 goals for and 6 goals against for 5 games. The challenge was stuff. After giving up 3 goals in the first period, the Red Liners regroup and scored 3 goals of their own to tie it up. The teams remained tied through the second period. But PBR would break through and overwhelm the tired 11 skates to notch in 3 more goals. The Liners would lose 6-3.
May 19: Scouting reports are sparse for the McFet Howard game against the Polar Vortex. Rumor has it that the Liners did beat the Vortex.
May 19: Heartland Red Liners had another tough game with a 6-1 loss. Offensive lines were not clicking at this game. Comments from fans thought the Liners goalie did keep the game closer than it may appear from the score.
May 20: McFet 95th Red Liners also had a tough outing against the Northside Riffs. After giving up a goal off a loose rebound, Twank was able to tie it off with a knuckleball slapshot from just inside the blue line. The puck found the upper corner of the net. But after that, the goals for the Riff came frequent. After taking a 6-1 lead into the first period. They would score 2 more goals for a final 8-1 victory. This was one of those game that the team will have to put behind them. There are still plenty of things to work on such as crashing the net and covering points effectively.
