The North Shore Red Liners began their second round of games against the same 4 opponents. It was the Rats that were up first. Though several extra players were called up, the boys in red only had a 12 person bench, the smallest so far this season.
They did come out strong but found themselves down by 3 goals early in the first period. The Rats would rack up 4 goals before the Red Liners scored their first goal. The Liners had trouble with back-checking against the faster Rats skaters. Baby stick-handled his way behind and around the Rats’ net. With the Rats’ netminder down on the ice, Baby fired the puck just past the goalie.
The second period was all Rats. They did have a power play off a slashing call against Doc. The Red Liners fortified their defenses and successfully prevented any power play goals. Some of the Liners such as Timmy and Toto had good slapshot and wristshot chances at the Rats’ goal. The Rats will go up 6-1 after two periods.
The third period showcased more offensive threats on both sides. After the Rats scored their 7th goal, Sobo would notch the teams only other goal off a slapshot at a rebounded puck from his own slapshot. The Red Liners did have one more chance for a goal with a power play in the waning minutes of the third period. Unfortunately, they just could not get the puck into the back of the Rats’ net.
This fifth game purchase levitra without a prescription again showcased all the same aspects that the Red Liners (and many other teams) need to work on: More shooting from the offense, better back-checking and puck clearing from the defense, and better positioning and anticipation by the goalie. Their next game will be next Tuesday
against the toughest team, Abt.
