The Blackwolves captured 6 of 8 points in the opening game of the 2006 Chicago Gay Games tournament in front of dozens of fans. And for all those participating in other events, our fans were happy to sit in the cooling rink and take in a few extra games.
The Blackwolves struck first with a breakaway goal in the first period by Sylvain Pigeon, visiting player from Montreal. In the second, Pigeon scored on a pass from Rogers, to make the score 2-0 and win the first two periods.
The third period saw Colorado score twice, with Short picking up a rebound goal and game winner off a shot by Nadin, a center from St. Louis.
Afterwards, the team went to dinner with fans at Caldwell’s Grill, and stopped by Touché’s.
