The Brew Crew shut out Chicago Spin 1-0 Tuesday night, ending Spin’s win streak at three. Despite missing leading scorers Chuck Jacobson and Larry Zyks, Spin played most of the game in the Brew Crew zone and outshot the Brew Crew easily. The only goal of the game came in the first period when a Brew Crew forward was left alone in front of the net, beating Julien Delvecchio who filled in for Keith Halverson. No one thought that goal would hold up.
For the rest of the game, Spin outplayed the Brew Crew, peppering their goalie with shots. The Brew Crew even resorted to trying to get Greg Bates thrown out of the game for not wearing shoulder pads. None of Spin’s shots found the net, however, and Spin’s hard work went unrewarded.
Spin dropped to 6-5 and next face the Canuks on Monday, May 5 at 9:30 pm.
