Spin 1, Storm 2
Vernon Hills
November 25th 2002
A bunch of high-spirited attitudes and better-focused team from last week played the “Storm” in Vernon Hills late Monday night. The Storm got on the board with a first minute fluke goal, putting them up 1 to 0 after the first period. Going into the third period with the score still the same, Shane Thompson picks up a loose puck that trickled in to tie the game at 1.
In the middle of the third period, a Storm defenseman takes a shot that scores to make it 2 to 1. Spin was complaining of a very questionable offside call, but to no avail. The goal counted and that ended up being the final score 2-1, Spin losing.
Spin played their hearts out, it was a very disappointing loss. Keith Halverson deserves a lot of credit, stopping 31 of 33 shots. Halverson kept Spin in the whole game as he has been doing all year long. Spin has a bye next week. They resume play December 9th vs. the Canucks, 9:50 pm face off time.
