We Have Fun

Volunteering and Fundraising

The CGHA tries to give back to the local community through various volunteering and fundraising events. These have included working in with Chicago Cares to fix a local school to raising money with the American Cancer Society’s Walk-n-Roll. Further volunteering events will be announced when available.

Beer Bust Fundraisers & White Elephant Holiday Parties

Several times a year, the CGHA hosts fundraisers along with a year end holiday party at Crew Bar and Grill. They along with Lagunitas Beer Co. are kind enough to donate proceeds from Lagunitas IPA sales to the organization. We value are relationship with both organizations for the past several years.

Chicago Pride Parade

Every June, Chicago opens their streets for the annual Chicago Pride Parade. The CGHA has been represented each year since 2003 while the number of participants has grown each year. The highlights include marching with the Chicago Pride Classic 2015 participants, WGN Radio & the Stanley Cup in 2015.

Blackhawks Pride Night, Chicago Wolves Night Out, Outdoor College Hockey Classic

Each year, the CGHA tries to arrange attending a large sporting event for members. Sometimes we are lucky enough to tailgate before the game which is sponsored by Crew Bar and Grill.

Meeting the Stanley Cup

We are privileged to have a good relationship with the Chicago Blackhawks, the National Hockey League, and the You Can Play Project. This has allowed us to spend exclusive time with the Stanley Cup each year that the Blackhawks have won the Cup from 2010 to the present. We obviously can’t guarantee new members an opportunity to be with it. But if the Blackhawks do win it again, we will do out best to ask for a brief moment with the best trophy in all of sports.
