Adult Rec Hockey:

The Chicago Gay Hockey Association currently fields four teams named the Red Liners. Each team plays in different Chicagoland adult hockey leagues and provides an environment within the hockey community that is open to all players and fans that is free from discrimination and prejudice.

Competitive – The Downtown Red Liners play in the C2 division at Johnny’s Ice House. Games are played at either 1350 W. Madison or 2550 W. Madison and can be found on the calendar starting with “JIH”.

Recreational – The Red Liners field our recreational team in the league at the McFetridge Sports Center. Games are played at 3843 N. California and can be found on the calendar starting with “McF”.

Novice – The Heartland Red Liners play in the novice league at American Heartland Ice Arena at 7384 N. Lincoln Ave. Games can be found on the calendar starting with “AH”.

Outdoor – The Outdoor Red Liners play in the Chicago Outdoor Hockey League. Games are played at the IceLand Skate Complex at 8435 Ballard Rd. in Niles. Games can be found on the calendar starting with “COHL”.

Next Scrimmage: Sat, Feb 13, 2016 (1:30-3:40pm) at Niles Outdoor Ice Rink.

The Chicago Gay Hockey Association will run yearly scrimmages for CGHA members to play against each other at a fun but competitive game. Titled Pucker-Up, the CGHA will try to combine these games with other social events such as a beerblast or tailgate party.

Next Practice: TBD

All skaters know that practice is an essential part of hockey. It is an important part of improving your game. All skill levels are welcomed. A $20 fee maybe required for non-CGHA members.

Next Tournaments:

  • MGHA Classic 2016 (April 2016 – Madison, WI)
  • Chelsea Challenge 2016 (May 22-24, 2016 – New York, NY)
  • Beanpot Classic 2016 (July 1-4, 2016 – Boston, MA)

From national and international competitions, the CGHA looks for  tournaments to display their skills and to show the rest of the players what the CGHA is all about. We have typically been competitive and have won numerous titles in these tournaments. The CGHA will also offer some travel stipends for attendees.
