The CGHA skated their developmental team at the inaugural and only season for them at Northbrook. The level of competition was too great for the burgeoning new players. After a disastrous season and abysmal record, the CGHA regroup by creating their own time slots to develop their players. They would eventual join the newly formed American Heartland Novice Hockey League.
