McFet 95th Red Liners Gets Crushed by Northside Riffs in 9-2 Trouncing.

With several Red Liner players on the DL, 4 minor leaguers were brought up do fill in the vacancies. Unfortunately, they may not have been ready for prime time. The first period began with five goals in rapid fire as the Riffs created multiple breakaways and didn’t miss the back of the net. The Mike line did create enough traffic to pop in a loose rebound for the first Liners goal of the game. The Riffs would score two more goals: one off a breakaway and one slipping inside an unguarded far post. On the other hand, the Liners were unable to create any sustained offense. They did break through late in the third period with Toe popping in a wrister past the Riff goaltender. But their opponents also scored two more goals through the five hole and an empty upper net. The Liners will meet up with these same opponents next week. Management hopes to get more players off the DL and present a stronger team for the rematch.
