Red Liners Dunk Beer Bistro in 6-1 Dribbling.

The Johnny’s Red Liners wanted to continue their winning ways as they met up with an old foe, the Beer Bistro. They were 1-5 in their previous matchups. But upper management’s new strategy of more offensive threats and playing fast and physical would hopefully result in a different outcome. After 45 minutes of play, the Liners would record an easy 6-1 victory.

The first period was basically a back and forth affair with more offensive threats by the Liners. The Bistros’ goalie had definitely stole several goals away from the Liners in that period. The Liners defense and Bigfield in net stayed firm against several breakaway by the Bistro. Penalties abound on both sides. The Liners did have a 5-3 but could not capitalize on it. I was eventually neutralized by a penalty by Easy E. In fact, he would be called for a second penalty which the Bistro could not capitalize on as well.

Things changed dramatically in the second period as the guys and gal in red turned up the physicality and chirping. And they were quickly rewarded. The One who name look or sound like Bradley Cooper pickup a behind the net pass from Twank and fired it along the goal line and into the upper net. The One would grab his second goal off a loose puck in the slot that he bounced along the ice, through traffic, and just past the Bistros’ goalie. The frustration by the goalie became more apparent as Easy E found the back of the net just 20 seconds later with the help of Jimmie and Tyty. The third line would finally join the scoring ranks with Pope Don Paul one timing Baby’s faceoff win.

With a commanding four goal lead in the third period, the Liners continued to push the offensive threats. The Bistro had hope to stem the bleeding. Unfortunately, Twank picked a pass from Queen Steph and skating deep at the Bistro to wrist the puck high in the upper net. But the Bistro did score the first and only goal of the game after the Liners left a Bistro defensemen unguarded who lasered a slapshot into the Liner goal. But The One would cool down the Bistros’ enthusiasm by scoring a hattrick a few minutes later. The rest of the period was a game of keep away to run the clock down while still taking advantage of quality scoring chances.

The first place Red Liners will take a twelve day hiatus to recharge, recover, and regroup before meeting up with the Grip Pro Frogs (5-8-1). Bigfield also improved his goals against average to 2.49 which is just behind the Devils’ netminder (2.16). Upper management hopes to further fine tune their lines and specific strategies for each opponent.
