With Two Goals, Motts Leads Northbrook Red Liners to First Win of the Season Against the Bulldogs

Trying to give Motts an appropriate send off, the Red Liners gave it all they had to get their first win for him before he heads south. With a full team effort, they rolled over the Bulldogs, 5-2. He even scored the game winning goal.

The boys in red got on the scoreboard first with Mott’s first goal. He skated in alone toward the far post and fired the puck just over the Bulldogs’ goalie. The Dogs did tie up the score several minutes later but B-hole would regain the lead for the Liners after putting in a loose puck in the crease. But the period would end with both teams tied. Motts would get the only goal of the second period which would be the eventual game winner. The Liners’ netminder, The Music Man, made several great saves as well to retain the lead. The Liners would put the icing on the win with two unanswered goals in the third period. Jessie slammed in a loose puck in the crease while Baby scored an improbable goal by lifting the puck over the Dogs’ netminder while sliding on his knees. The defense which included Toto and Uncle Chris held their own for the final minutes to close out the win.

With one remaining game in the season, the team hopes to end the season on a two game winning streak before heading into the playoffs. They also sent their best wishes to Motts as he prepares for school down south.
