Red Liners Give Ultimate Teddy a Fitting Send Off with a Typical CGHA Win Against the Butchers Union

With a full 15 player bench tonight, the Liners hoped to give Teddy one last win before he moves up to the minor leagues out in Boston. Things started out on a high note as Toto notched the first goal of his hat trick night off deflected shot by B-hole from Bleech. But the Men with Cleavers quickly rebounded with two quick goals of their own. However, the Liners grab the momentum back with the final two goals of the period. a breakaway by Baby off a pass from Mixy and the Druck, and Toto’s second goal from Tyty. Ultimate Ted did draw an elbowing penalty in the closing seconds of the period. He claimed he was just trying to position himself in front of his opponent. But this powerplay was negated by a Butchers’ penalty seconds later.

The second period was almost an exact opposite of the first period. There were no penalties, and only one goal was scored by the Butchers with 1 minute left to play. With the scores tied, the third period would determine the winner. Things started out rough for the Liners as they drew back to back penalties early on. During this second penalty, BU capitalized on the man advantage to take the 4-3 lead with 8 minutes left to play. It would take the closing minutes of game before the Liners tied the game off a deflection by Dr. Watson off Jussy O’ slap shot from the point. The Liners would take the lead for good off of Toto’s third goal (the game winner) during another scramble in front of the new with B-hole screening the goalie. A final goal by Baby into the empty net insured the win for the Liners and, especially, Ultimate Ted.

While the Liners enjoy a 4-2 record, they are still in 7th place out of 11 spots. With Teddy moving on to the minors, they will have to rely on Baby and Tyty. Other prospect maybe making heir way up into the center position to replace Ted such as Twank or Judge Jimmy. The Liners continue their season on June 2 at 12pm JIH West against the Grip Pro Bullfrogs.
