Round 2 – Gay Games 2006

The Blackwolves gathered another
4 points from a possible 8 in their second game of the series.
Playing on a day when the heat rose to over 90 degrees and ultra-high humidity, and after a full day of games, the Blackwolves hit the ice for their 6:20pm game. The first period saw Pigeon (3 goals) notching the first goal of the game off a face-off win from Rogers. That goal held and the Blackwolves won the first period.
LA came back in the second for a goal of their own and the Blackwolves were unable to answer, allowing LA to capture the period’s possible 2-points.
The 3rd period saw both teams getting chances but unable to break through, ending the period and the game as a 1-1 tie.
The trend in the game was shaky at best, with little flow to the game, and heat from the rink and outside taking its toll on players from both sides.

CGHA founder and former Black-wolves player Chuck Jacobson was referee for the game, and was an outstanding and unbiased official.
