Winter 2005-2006 Semi Finals

Coming off a final regular season game win vs the American Eagles (last season’s H2-A Champs), the Blackwolves solidified a top-tier second place finish, and had a bye and two weeks off before their first playoff game — the H2-A semi-final.
Again, the Blackwolves faced the American Eagles — ending the Eagles’ season with a 4-2 loss, and giving the Blackwolves a chance to play in a Championship game for the second season in a row.
The Eagles — playing a very dirty, physical, poor-sport brand of hockey (one of their players took a 5-minute major and a four-game suspension for intentional intent-to-injure with a stick to Kennedy’s face) — scored a short-handed goal in the third, and came within a goal of tying the game, but Mazzone scored on a breakaway and put the game out of reach.
Kennedy’s goal stands as the game-winner. Sikes started the scoring off with the first two goals of the game. Halverson was awarded the game puck.
