The Blackwolves faced last year’s upper-tier H2-A Champions, and defeated them 3-2, knocking them from First Place into the Third Place position for the final standings.
In front of new fans, the Blackwolves started the game with nine on the bench, before Ness rushed in and made it ten skaters.
The Blackwolves scored first, before letting in two unanswered goals, but rebounded with hard work and team effort to net the last two goals in the game for the win.
Scoring for the Blackwoves were Jim Short, Andrew Rogers and Steve Ness.
The refs seemed to have it out for Sikes, calling him for three penalties, and allowing him to take direct checks from the Eagles without penalties on their players.
Thanks to Ness for joining our game after his own team’s playoff game was won in a forefeit, due to the opposing team’s lack of goalie.
