Spin Drops to 3-4 As They Lose To Cyclones

Cyclones 3, Spin 1

April 5, 2003
Vernon Hills

The Chicago Spin was back in action Saturday evening as they hosted the Cyclones at the Glacier Rink in Vernon Hills. The game started off with end to end action, with Spin taking the lead first with a goal by Chuck Jacobson, getting the assist Larry Zyks who has been the play maker all year long. In the second period, there was no scoring, but Jacobson was thrown out of the game for getting checked into the boards behind the net. Glacier Rink provided one ref on Saturday when there should be two. When you only have one ref and he is “brainless,” according to a fan that shouted from the stands, it’s hard to see everything. “I’ve seen some bad refs in my days, but this one tops them all,” Jacobson said after the game. Despite the bad officiating for both teams, Spin still should have won the game, but the team could not get focused after the second period. Keith Halverson, playing outstanding, gave up two goals, the third being an empty net goal.
